User Interaction Lab (UIL)

The User Interaction Lab aims to empower students, not only to build technology, but to do so in a responsible, creative, and inclusive way. It marks an important step in preparing students to design technologies that genuinely serve people and society.

The User Interaction Lab is designed to give students access to state-of-the-art tools, including eye trackers, health trackers, and advanced audio and video recording equipment. In addition to state of the art technologies, the lab provides a dedicated space for project-based learning, where students can experiment, reflect, and develop practical skills.

Intelligent Robotics Laboratory

The Intelligent Robotics Laboratory  (IRLab) is a cooperation between students and staff from the Universiteit van Amsterdam who are active in the research and education in robotics. The lab started in 2015 as an collaboration with the robotic researchers of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The robot lab allows students to program and experiment with different devices, such as robots and drones. The lab aims to provide students with hands-on experience, working with physical AI systems.

The Intelligent Robotics Lab hosts several student teams active in the RoboCup community.

The Dutch Soccer team is one of the teams. AI students prepare the Nano robots for participation in football matches for robots. They in the RoboCup Standard Platform League.

Visualisation Lab

The Visualisation Lab provides facilities for students and researchers for projects that require interactive visualisation facilities. The lab is used in courses for bachelor and master students on computer graphics, game technology, virtual/augmented reality and thesis projects on the same subjects. Among the facilities in the lab are: high performance graphics workstations, Virtual and Augmented Reality devices, touch displays, object tracking devices, 3D scanning devices and a 3D printer.
