The award was granted by the 11th International Conference on 3D Vision which took place in Davos, Switzerland between March 18-21, 2024.

Martin R. Oswald from the Computer Vision (CV) Group of the Informatics Institute and his collaborators, received the Best paper honourable mention award for his joint work on the research paper 'NICER-SLAM: Neural Implicit Scene Encoding for RGB SLAM'.

The paper presents a novel method for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) from monocular RGB videos and particularly improves the map quality to capture a scene densely with many details.
