Queen Máxima opens supercomputer for Dutch science

The new national supercomputer Snellius located at Amsterdam Science Park, performs 14 billion calculations per second. Several research groups of the Informatics Institute use the supercomputer for their research.

During the festive opening by Queen Máxima, climate scientist Henk Dijkstra and outgoing Minister of Education, Culture and Science Ingrid van Engelshoven spoke about the enormous gain for science.
