PhD student Damien Fleur and his supervisors received the Best Short Paper Award at the Intelligent Tutoring Systems conference (ITS2020) last Friday (June 13th) for their paper "Learning Analytics Dashboard for Motivation and Performance".

This paper presents a Learning Analytics dashboard and an accompanying intervention that relies on goal orientation and social comparison. The results indicate that realtime learner-oriented dashboards are technically feasible and may have tangible benefits for learners. Damien works on an Interdisciplinary Doctorate Agreement (IDA) PhD project which is a collaboration between the Informatics Department and Psychology Department. The project is supervised by Bert Bredeweg and Wouter van den Bos.
