The theme of Overwhelm reflects lived experiences of neurodiversity and highlights the many sensory and cognitive demands people navigate in digital and physical environments. It introduces the Lab as a place where multimodal interaction design is explored through research, teaching, and experimentation.
During the event, you can explore technologies used in Human-Computer Interaction projects, from inclusive design and embodied interaction to responsible AI and multimodal interaction. The Lab also presents its future direction as a creative space that centres student learning, whilst exploring academic research and community engagement.
The opening marks the start of new opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, faculties, and external partners. Visitors are invited to connect with the Digital Interactions Lab, share ideas, and explore future projects.
We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate the launch of this new space and to explore the work that will shape the next steps in Human Computer Interaction at the University of Amsterdam.
