Each year the prestigious American university MIT (Massachutes Institute of Technologie) releases a list of the world’s best innovators under 35. UvA researcher Taco Cohen of the Informatics Institute is among this year’s best European innovators.
Cohen works in the field of artificial intelligence at the Informatics Institute. He developed a way to make neural networks learn more rapidly, using fewer examples. This is of great value for fields like the medical industry. MIT praises his work with the words: ‘His neural network multiplies by 10 the efficiency of data to turn deep learning into an expert on medical images.’ More information about Cohen and why MIT selected him can be found on the best innovators website.
