SEMIA project rewarded

The project is a collaboration between Film Museum Eye, Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Humanities from the UvA, and Marcel Worring from the Informatics Institute.

The Sensory Moving Image Archive (SEMIA): Boosting Creative Reuse for Artistic Practice and Research will receive funding from NWO as part of the Smart Culture – Art and Culture research program.

SEMIA aims to develop a search method that will enable visual artists and researchers to search digitized heritage collections on the basis of visual features such as light and color, form, or movement.  The project is a collaboration between Film Museum Eye, Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Humanities from the UvA, and Marcel Worring from the Informatics Institute. The project will fund a two year postdoc position at the Informatics Institute.
