Peter Mika wins Semantic Web 10 Year impact award

15 October 2015

At the International Semantic Web Conference last week, Peter Mika has received the 10 Year Impact Award. This is the most prestigious award of the semantic web community, and is awarded to the Semantic Web paper from the conference edition 10 years ago that has had the biggest impact in the decade since its publication.

Peter Mika did this work while a PhD student at the CS Dept of the VU. He went on to become a senior researcher at Yahoo, currently based in London. Frank van Harmelen won the same award in 2012, making the VU semantic web group the only group worldwide that has won the award twice.
